Interconnecting Knitting Methods For Constrained Inflatables
This independent study centers on a teaching collaboration with Prof. Sean Ahlquist, engineering faculty and students, and industry engineers, aimed at pioneering knitting-based design processes for creating innovative pneumatic forms and systems under applicable design process. The study explores the use of constrained knits—fabrics engineered to resist deformation under specific forces—to achieve structural stiffness in inflatable designs.
